Love It or Leave It? Tips for better Real Estate Photos

Are buyer's Loving your listings or Leaving them behind to search for something that more closely matches their ideal?  If they are leaving to look for greener pastures, why are they doing it?

With over 85% of home buyers searching online listings for their dream home, we need to be more diligent and take a few extra minutes to prepare for the photography portion of the listing process.  To help Realtors with this stage of the process, I've come up with a few things to think about before taking the all-important curb appeal shot.

  1. Most importantly, remove all vehicles from the driveway.
  2. Store garbage bins, hoses, toys and other outdoor items in a shed or out of the photo frame.
  3. Take note of the angle of the sun - if it's behind the home, come back later to take the shot.
  4. Be sure to get all of the home in the photo frame.
  5. Ensure your camera is on a good horizontal level so the home does not look like it's sliding out of the photo frame.
  6. Finally, take some time later to edit the photos to ensure a crisp, clean look.
It's listing season in Nova Scotia so let's make the most of it!
